The First Lagadam Republic is believed to have been formed in 6836 AE, for that is when the ever complicated Lagadamian Calendar begins. Very little, if anything is known of the societies that existed on the island before the Republic, but Lagadamian legend holds that the nation was once home to various kingdoms that were unified after centuries of war. These kingdoms are believed to be loosely survived as the seven districts of the Republic – Vovian, Cevro, Innarels, Aduriem, Areav, Rassonne and Jaccion. It is known, however, that the First Republic stood until 7208 AE, when it descended into a civil war under the leadership of Archon Exponymoux Kinnon Costeau. The war lasted 22 years, and the Second Lagadam Republic was formed in 15 NE at the Treaty of Jumec. 1553 years later, in 1568 NE, the Eurudamn Empire launched its assualt on the island, having taken the then-Lagadamian territory of Firiena 70 years earlier. Lagadamia was fully annexed by the Eurudaman Empire by 1577NE, and the Imperial Province of Lagadamia was created. In 1582 NE the Empire was forced out of the country after only 5 years of rebellion, and the Third and current Lagadam Republic was formed.
